How Fears Of Ukraine’s Crimea Offensive May Have Forced Putin’s Russia To Alter His Drone Strategy
Russia has shifted its UAV deployment from Crimea to the southern Russian region of Krasnodar, according to UK Defence Ministry. Since Moscow began its invasion of Ukraine in February, Crimea has served as a critical base for the Russian military. Russia built the Kerch Strait and ships were used to transport troops, weapons, equipment, and supplies through the peninsula. The airstrip at Crimea’s Dzhankoy also became Russia’s primary supply base for its operations in southern Ukraine. Putin declared a higher level of security for Crimea and the areas bordering Ukraine in late October. Despite this, Russia has now decided to make a significant change to their bombing campaigns against Ukrainian infrastructure. Is Russia worried over a potential Ukrainian offensive in Crimea?
