The reasons why Antonio Nusa is joining Brentford amid Tottenham January transfer interest

Tottenham have been dealt a blow on the transfer front with Brentford beating them to the signing of highly-rated Antonio Nusa. Making a big name for himself in Belgium with Club Brugge, the young winger had come to the attention a number of Europe's top clubs. Tottenham appeared to have moved into pole position to sign the Norwegian youngster after holding talks with Club Brugge about a potential transfer which would include loaning Nusa back to the Belgian side for the remainder of the season. However, there has been a late twist in the tale with Nusa instead opting to sealing a move to fellow London side Brentford. Nusa and his camp also felt that immediately moving to one of the Premier League's biggest clubs was too big a step in his development at this point. A switch to Brentford will give him the opportunity to develop as a player and, providing he carries to progress at his current rate, a move to one of the biggest clubs in the future could very well materialise.
