Fingal's Cave-a Sea cave on a desert island
Fingal's Cave, located on the uninhabited island of Staffa, is one of Scotland's most popular attractions.
It attracts tourists with its natural acoustics and unique hexagonal basalt columns, which were formed as a result of the cooling and compression process of volcanic lava.
The dimensions of the cave are impressive: it reaches 72 meters in length, 20 meters in width and 13 meters in height, and the height of the columns can reach 18 meters.
Fingal's Cave was visited by many famous personalities, including the composer, Felix Mendelssohn. Upon returning from the trip, his impressions of this amazing natural phenomenon inspired the creation of a musical piece called āFingal's Cave.ā
