Wagner Chief Prigozhin Targets Top Russian General Gerasimov

Russia’s private military “Wagner Group” has released a video in which they can be heard demanding more weapons from the Kremlin. The group members were also heard using expletives to refer to Russian military General Valery Gerasimov. The controversy became more pronounced after the group’s founder Yevgeny Prigozhin also commented on the video. Prigozhin dismissed reports from Russian media that the men in the video were Ukrainians disguised as Wagner members. However, this isn’t the first time that the Wagner group, regarded as Putin’s private army, has criticised Russia’s military leadership. Prigozhin has frequently criticised Russian military chiefs and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu for Russia’s war failures.
