Gretchen, worried about not hearing from the Whites, calls the family home and is met by Skyler, who takes the opportunity to thank her for paying for Walt's treatment. Skyler, discovering that Gretchen is aware of his lie, invites her to lunch to apologize, but doesn't reveal where the money came from. An argument breaks out. As a result, Gretchen contacts Skyler to tell him that she and Elliott are no longer paying for Walt's treatment. At the same time, Walt demands Jesse's respect as a boss and sends him to retrieve the stolen merchandise. Jesse then finds himself in the drug-addicted couple's hideout, where he discovers to his horror that they have a young child, left to fend for himself. His parents have stolen an ATM and are trying to open it by any means necessary. The couple, under the influence of drugs, end up arguing, and the woman crushes her partner's head when the machine falls and he tries to open it. Jesse, trying to remove his fingerprints, triggers the machine's camouflaged opening, enabling him to recover the money lost by the stolen merchandise. He then flees the house, just after dialing the emergency number so that they can come and get the couple's child out of his disastrous environment.
