Lemon test of baby
The Lemon Test is a legal test used by courts in the United States to determine whether a law or government action violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits the government from establishing a state religion or favoring one religion over another. The test comes from the Supreme Court case Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971). It consists of three prongs:
1. The law or government action must have a secular purpose.
2. Its primary effect must neither advance nor inhibit religion.
3. It must not result in excessive entanglement between government and religion.
