"Don't Come Around Here No More" is a song written by Tom Petty of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. It was released in February 1985 as the lead single of the Southern Accents album.Initially, the inspiration for the song was the romantic relationship of the producer Dave Stewart from Eurythmics co Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac. On the Howard Stern Show, Stewart revealed that the phrase that gave the song its name was uttered by Nicks. The story began with the fact that the night before she broke up with the guitarist Eagles Joe Walsh and invited Stewart to a party after an early Eurythmics performance in Los Angeles. Stuart hadn't met her then, but he agreed to go anyway. While all the guests retired to the bathroom to snort cocaine, he went upstairs to the bedroom. When he woke up at five in the morning, he saw Nyx putting on Victorian clothes, after which he wrote a script that was very reminiscent of the plot Alice in Wonderland. Later in the morning, Nicks told Walsh, "Don't come around here anymore."
