Communities relocated in Nsanje upper area following the Malawi government's declaration that their area is inhabitable following yearly severe flooding in the area. Communities lost their beloved family members, farm produce, assets and children's unstable access to basic educational services yearly resulting to the area registering high school drop out rates. Communities are safe from floods in the new area though they need basic amenities namely upgrading of the Junior primary in the area to Full Primary School through construction of 2 dual class school blocks, 2 teachers houses. Senior class learners walk 6 kilometres to the nearest Full Primary school, sinking of 2 additional boreholes - the areavhas 2 boreholes servicing 2400 households and opening of a community health centre after construction of the health facility inclusive of treatment building and the health personnels' House. Having the above facilities in the area will enable the areas children access their right of education, health services and water.
