The balloon pops when you sprinkle it with orange peel

Balloons are mostly made of rubber, a type of material that can dissolve in certain materials. When you sprinkle orange peel on a balloon, the oils in the peel, especially limonene, can dissolve some of the rubber on the balloon's surface. This makes the rubber weaker, so if there is too much air pressure inside the balloon, it may burst. But not all balloons burst when you sprinkle them with orange peel. This is due to something called vulcanization. As you can see, rubber is made up of long molecules that can be easily separated from each other. But when rubber goes through a process called vulcanization, it becomes harder.
