Patty Austin is a renowned American songwriter and Grammy Award-winning singer. He accidentally escaped death when he booked a seat on United Flight 93 from Boston to SFO, which was scheduled to fly from New York to San Francisco on the morning of September 11. Unfortunately, or now we can say, fortunately, Austin's plans changed when his mother suffered a stroke and he had to catch an early flight. If he had boarded United Flight 93, he would have been on a plane hijacked by four Al-Qaeda hijackers. When passengers tried to regain control of the plane from the hijackers, the plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field. He would die along with the 44 people on that flight
