Leading surgeon from Al-Shifa hospital dies in Israeli custody

"Israel is facing mounting criticism over the treatment of Palestinian prisoners. Dr. Adnan Al-Bursh, a leading surgeon from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, died in custody after more than four months of detention. He was detained by Israeli forces while treating patients at another hospital and was later moved to an Israeli prison where he died. An Israeli military spokesperson said that he had been detained for national security reasons but did not comment on the cause of his death."
