Russia Slams "Groundless" US Claim Of Using Choking Agent 'Chloropicrin' To Contain Ukraine Troops

The United States accused Russia of using chemical weapons “as a method of warfare” against Ukraine. Additionally, the US Department of State said Russia had also used “riot control agents,” or tear gas, during the war in violation of the CWC. Shortly after the US claim, the Kremlin denied the accusation that Russian forces in Ukraine had violated an international ban on chemical weapons. Washington’s accusations came after a Russian diplomat accused the US of facilitating chemical warfare in Ukraine.
