Growing Your Awareness

The programme was organized for advocates, litigants, law college students, representatives of insurance, and bank officials. Purpose of organizing the program was to make people aware about the legal provisions and functioning of mediation centre. Programme was held in two sessions. The first session was an inaugural session. The programme was compared by Adv. Surekha Borkute. Welcome speech was delivered by Shri D.Y.Kale, Co-ordinator, District Mediation Centre, Nagpur. Hon’ble Principle District Judge was the Chairperson of the program. Keynote speech on the topic ‘Role of Judges, Lawyers, Mediators and Litigants, category of cases where mediation is appropriate and its process’ was given by Adv. Shri. Rajendra J. Rathi. Shri V.B. Kulkarni- District Judge-2, Nagpur shared his view regarding basics of Mediation and its necessity and benefits. The first session was concluded by 3.30 p.m. Second session was an interactive session where participants shared their experiences of mediation. Role play was shown to participants. Students were made aware about the proceedings of mediation. Second session was presided by Shri D.Y. Kale. The dais was shared by District judge, Kulkarni, Adv. Borkute and Dr. Deepti Khubalkar.
