Volcano Lava

By Pound Dase 38 views 6 months ago
Diamonds, while extremely hard, have a melting point of around 4,027°C (7,280°F). Lava, on the other hand, typically has a temperature range between 700°C and 1,200°C (1,292°F - 2,192°F). Since lava is significantly cooler than the melting point of diamonds, it cannot melt them down. However, diamonds can burn at much lower temperatures if there's enough oxygen present, turning them into carbon dioxide gas. So, while lava can’t melt a diamond, it can potentially cause it to burn away if exposed to high heat and oxygen. Fascinating, right? ????
