Mushaira
As I mentioned earlier, a mushaira is a traditional form of poetry recitation that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is a gathering at which poets recite their own poetry and listen to the poetry of others, often with the aim of promoting the art of poetry and encouraging literary discussion. The poetry recited at a mushaira is often meant to be inspiring and uplifting, and the event is often used as a platform for poets to express their views on social and political issues. Mushairas can be held in a variety of settings, from small private gatherings to large public events, and are enjoyed by people of all ages. They are an important part of the literary and cultural tradition of the Indian subcontinent and continue to be popular today.
