Depression and Suicides*Why*

Depression and suicide are alarming concerns that plague modern society. The Quran reminds us, "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient" (Quran 2:155). Many factors contribute to these issues, including societal pressure, mental health stigma, and a lack of spiritual connection. When individuals feel disconnected from their purpose, community, and faith, they become vulnerable to feelings of hopelessness and despair. It is crucial that we address these underlying issues, foster a supportive environment, and encourage open conversations to prevent depression and suicide, and promote mental well-being and spiritual resilience.
