Straight cycle

A straight cycle (also known as an open cycle) is a type of thermodynamic or mechanical cycle in which the working fluid passes through the system only once. It enters the system, undergoes a series of energy transformations (such as compression, combustion, expansion), and is then discharged without being reused.
