International labor day

????International Labor Day, also known as May Day, originated in the late 19th century to honor the labor movement and the struggle for workers' rights. It traces back to the Haymarket affair in Chicago in 1886, where workers striking for an eight-hour workday clashed with police, resulting in violence and deaths. The incident became a global symbol of workers' solidarity. In 1889, the Second International declared May 1st as International Workers’ Day. Since then, many countries observe it annually with marches, protests, and celebrations to recognize labor contributions and advocate for fair working conditions and social justice. ????আন্তর্জাতিক শ্রমিক দিবস, যা মে দিবস নামেও পরিচিত, এটি ১৯শ শতকের শেষ দিকে শ্রমিক আন্দোলন এবং শ্রমিকদের অধিকার আদায়ের সংগ্রামকে সম্মান জানাতে উদ্ভূত হয়। এর উৎস ১৮৮৬ সালের মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের শিকাগো শহরের হেমার্কেট ঘটনার সঙ্গে যুক্ত, যেখানে আট ঘণ্টা কর্মদিবসের দাবিতে ধর্মঘটে অংশ নেওয়া শ্রমিকদের সঙ্গে পুলিশের সংঘর্ষ হয় এবং এতে সহিংসতা ও প্রাণহানির ঘটনা ঘটে। এই ঘটনা বিশ্বজুড়ে শ্রমিক সংহতির প্রতীক হয়ে ওঠে। ১৮৮৯ সালে দ্বিতীয় আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থা ১লা মে-কে আন্তর্জাতিক শ্রমিক দিবস হিসেবে ঘোষণা করে। এরপর থেকে বিশ্বের বহু দেশে প্রতি বছর এই দিনটি মিছিল, প্রতিবাদ এবং নানা উদযাপনের মাধ্যমে পালন করা হয়, যেখানে শ্রমিকদের অবদানকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয় এবং ন্যায্য কর্মপরিবেশ ও সামাজিক ন্যায়বিচারের দাবিতে আওয়াজ তোলা হয়।
