The Sword of Allah

Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (R.A.), also known as “Saifullah” (The Sword of Allah), was one of the most celebrated military commanders in Islamic history. He played a key role during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and in the early Islamic conquests after the Prophet’s demise. Hazrat Khalid (R.A.) earned the title “Saifullah” during the Battle of Mu’tah (629 CE), where he took command after the martyrdom of the original Muslim commanders. Though heavily outnumbered, he led the Muslim army to safety with remarkable strategy and courage. The Prophet (PBUH) gave him the title in recognition of his bravery and tactical genius.
