Key plot points A deadly ambush: Sunny, the most skilled "Clipper" (or soldier) for the most powerful Baron, Quinn, discovers and rescues a teenage boy named M.K. during a surprise attack by nomadic bandits. M.K. is the sole survivor of the ambush. A hidden power: When another recruit, Ajax, injures M.K. during training at Quinn's Fort, M.K.'s eyes turn black, and a dark power is unleashed, allowing him to brutally overpower Ajax. Sunny witnesses the full extent of this frightening ability. The Widow's hunt: The newly arrived Baron, The Widow, stages a brazen attack on one of Quinn's vehicles.
