قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لو كانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله جناح بعوضة ما سقى كافرا منها شربة ماء." (رواه الترمذي) تفسير الحديث: "لو كانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله": يعني لو كانت هذه الحياة الدنيا تستحق شيئا من قيمة عند الله. "جناح بعوضة": هو جناح صغير جدا جدا يعني الشيء التافه والضئيل. "ما سقى كافرا منها شربة ماء": معناه أنه لو كانت الدنيا تستحق شيئا عند الله لما جعل الله الكافر يشرب منها قطرة ماء واحدة. المعنى العام: الحديث يوضح أن الدنيا لا تساوي شيئا في نظر الله سبحانه وتعالى. إذا كانت الدنيا تعتبر قيمة أو مهمة لكان الله قد أعطاها الكافرين ولو شربة ماء بسيطة لكن بما أنها لا تساوي شيئا عند الله لم يمنح الكافرين حتى أبسط نعمة مثل الماء. الدنيا في الإسلام تعتبر مرحلة قصيرة وزائلة مقارنة بما يعد في الآخرة لذا يجب على المسلم أن لا يبالغ في التعلق بالدنيا أو أن يجعلها محط اهتمامه الأول. المغزى: الدنيا لا تعدل شيئا أمام الآخرة ولا ينبغي للمسلم أن يطغى حب الدنيا على اهتمامه بالآخرة. الآخرة هي الأصل والمستقبل الذي يجب أن يعمل من أجله. وفي هذا الحديث دعوة للتفكير في أولوياتنا والعمل من أجل ما يدوم ويستمر: الجنة والعمل الصالح. خلاصة: الحديث يحثنا على أن نهتم بما هو أبقى ولا نغتر بالدنيا بل نعمل للآخرة. الدنيا مجرد مرحلة قصيرة أما الآخرة فهي الخلود فلتكن أعمالنا وصبرنا من أجلها.
