Marmosets Animal Facts

Marmosets are small primates native to the rainforests of South America, particularly Brazil. There are several species of marmosets, including the black-fringed marmoset (Callithrix penicillata), which has a tail with black and white rings. Marmosets are omnivores that feed on tree sap, insects, fruits, and insect eggs. Marmosets have claws instead of nails and tactile hairs on their wrists. Their body temperature can vary by up to 4C during the day. Marmosets are known to be affectionate pets and can live up to 20 years.
