When a neighborhood dog didnt show up for his daily breakfast on a freezing cold day in St. Louis, the neighbors who had been looking after him grew concerned and began to worry and went out looking for him. They found him, beat the hell up by another dog, and hiding in an abandoned house,Donna Lochmann, Stray Rescues Chief Lifesaving Officer, and her team arrived to find the Pit Bull they named Peso covered in bite wounds. Donna gently coaxed him out of the house and into her car to get him the medical attention he desperately needed.
When we got to Stray Rescue, he didnt want to get out of the Jeep, Stray Rescue of St. Louis said. When we finally got him inside, he met Dr. Oliver. He gingerly climbed in her lap, kissed her face, plopped down, and just hugged her.An examination revealed Peso was covered with bite marks. His front legs were swollen and infected and he needed his wounds cleaned and to be put on pain medications and antibiotics.
With Peso on the mend, Stray Rescue reached out to the kind people who had been looking after him.. They wrote, We have spoken with his neighborhood friends since his rescue. They are so happy to hear hes doing great! He will forever be grateful to his angels, and so are we.
