Soursop Fruit Growth Process
The growth of a soursop fruit begins with a sturdy soursop tree developing new leaves and branches under warm, tropical conditions. As the tree matures, clusters of thick, yellow-green flower buds appear along the branches and trunk. These buds slowly open into unique, waxy flowers with three thick petals, releasing a mild fragrance that attracts pollinators.
After successful pollination, the flowers transform into small, green fruit buds. These buds gradually enlarge, developing the soursops distinctive shapeoval to heart-likecovered with soft, flexible spines. During the early growth stage, the fruit is firm and dark green.
As time passes, the soursop continues to grow heavier and plumper. The spines become more pronounced but remain soft to the touch. Inside, the white flesh forms and fills with juicy, sweet-sour pulp and shiny black seeds. As the fruit approaches ripeness, its skin lightens slightly in color and becomes softer when gently pressed.
When fully mature, the soursop fruit is fragrant, tender, and ready to be harvestedoffering a refreshing tropical flavor.
