In the beginning of the 20thy century Ford City, Pennsylvania, became a home of a thriving Macedono-Bulgarian community.
Today, the cemetery of the borough is preserving the memory of the Macedonian Bulgarians who came in the US in searching of better life and freedom. Their tombstones testify to their Macedonian-Bulgarian identity and show that a century ago the concepts of "Bulgarian", "Macedonian Bulgarian" and "Macedonian" were equivalent and mutually complementary in their minds.
