Spectral is a military science fiction thriller set in a war-torn Eastern European city, where a team of elite special forces soldiers and a DARPA scientist face an unknown and terrifying threat. The story begins as Dr. Clyne, a DARPA researcher who specializes in advanced optics, is sent to Moldova, where U.S. forces are engaged in a conflict against insurgents. Soldiers have been mysteriously dying, and their deaths are caught on camera, showing strange, ghost-like entities responsible. The military believes these entities may be a new form of enemy technology, while others suspect supernatural forces. Dr. Clyne joins a Delta Force unit led by Captain Sessions to investigate. Equipped with hyperspectral goggles developed by Clyne, they begin their mission to understand and neutralize the threat. Soon, they encounter the spectral entities firsthand fast, invulnerable beings capable of killing in seconds. Conventional weapons prove ineffective, and the team is forced to retreat multiple times as they try to uncover the origin of these creatures. Through their investigation, they discover that the specters are not supernatural but are instead the byproduct of a failed military experiment. Using a type of advanced material science, human souls were accidentally fused into a plasma-like state, creating the spectral beings as an unintended consequence. These spectral entities were once human but are now uncontrollable and hostile. As the specters increase in number and overwhelm the city, Clyne devises a plan to build energy-based weapons capable of neutralizing them. With time running out, the team constructs these weapons and mounts a final stand against the spectral army, successfully shutting down the rogue technology that created the entities. In the end, Dr. Clyne and the surviving soldiers defeat the specters, bringing a fragile peace to the devastated city. The film blends military action with science fiction, exploring themes of technology gone awry and the blurred lines between the natural and the supernatural.
