With a length of 525 meters (1,722 feet) and a gradient of 18.5% to help slow landing aircraft, LFLJ is among the world's smallest runways. Only pilots with specialized certification are able to navigate the airport's hazardous approach across deep valleys. There is no go-around procedure upon arrival. Courchevel is in France.
