Punishment of Pharaoh (Firaon) Description Pharaoh was a powerful and arrogant ruler who denied the message of Prophet Musa (Moses A.S.) and claimed divinity for himself. Because of his ظلم (oppression), cruelty toward the Children of Israel, and rejection of Allahs signs, severe punishments were sent upon him and his people. These included plagues, floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and water turning into blood. Despite witnessing these clear signs, Pharaoh remained stubborn. Finally, when he chased Prophet Musa (A.S.) and the believers, Allah parted the sea for the faithful and then caused it to close, drowning Pharaoh and his army. His punishment became a lasting lesson for humanity about the consequences of arrogance, disbelief, and injustice.
