A Toyota Calya car with plate D 1640 AHB was attacked by residents after daring to go against the direction on Jalan Gunung Sahari Raya, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (25/2/2026) afternoon. This incident triggered a chase between the driver and residents, as well as causing damage to several vehicles. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Pol Reynold Hutagalung explained that the driver was going against the direction because he wanted to avoid traffic jams. "The driver was driving from Ancol towards Senen at around 17.15 WIB. Due to traffic jams, the person concerned took the opposite route, thus triggering the anger of other drivers," said Reynold. Currently, the driver and vehicle have been detained by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Accident Unit for further examination. The police also carried out a urine test to confirm the condition of the driver at the time of the incident and are still investigating the exact cause of the incident.
