A preliminary magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck western Japan on Tuesday, followed by a series of aftershocks.
Surveillance footage shows shaking in Tottori City, Yunago, and Miyoshi across the Chugoku region when the quake struck just before 10:30 a.m. local time.The Japan Meteorological Agency said the epicenter was in eastern Shimane Prefecture and there was no tsunami threat.West Japan Railways said it suspended Shinkansen bullet train operations between Shin-Osaka and Hakata in the wake of the quake.
