Chinese Expert Slams Israeli Military at Beijing Forum: "Shoot Terrorists, Not Little Children!

A heated diplomatic exchange took place at the 12th Xiangshan Forum in Beijing on Wednesday (September 17, 2025). Yan Xuetong, Director of the Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University, strongly criticized an Israeli military officer over operations in Gaza. "Your military should be shooting terrorists, not little children! Not women!" he said bluntly. The remark came after the Israeli officer claimed that terrorist organizations holding Israeli hostages were the root cause of the conflict.
