concrete mixer truck work

A concrete mixer truck works through a continuous mechanical process of blending, transporting, and discharging wet concrete. The Working Process1. Loading (Batching)Dry ingredients (cement, sand, gravel) and water are loaded into the drum at a batch plant. The drum spins at a high speed (about 12 to 18 RPM) to rapidly blend the materials into a uniform wet mixture.2. Transit (Agitating)While driving to the construction site, the drum switches to a slow agitation speed (about 2 to 6 RPM).This continuous slow movement prevents the concrete from segregating (separating) and keeps it from setting prematurely.Internal spiral blades (flights) line the inside of the drum, constantly pushing the concrete toward the front (deepest part) of the drum.3. Discharge (Pouring)To empty the truck, the operator reverses the rotation direction of the drum. The internal spiral blades act like a giant Archimedes' screw, lifting the concrete upward and outward. The concrete exits through the rear opening and slides down the adjustable discharge chutes directly into the pump hopper, as seen in the image.
