Russia claims troops captured Soledar while Ukraine disputes it

Russia said on Friday (January 13) that its forces had taken control of the town of Soledar in eastern Ukraine, in what would be a rare success for Moscow after months of battlefield reverses and one of the bloodiest campaigns of the war so far. Kyiv, though, said its troops were still resisting. Ukraine's border guard released this footage of what it said was fighting in Soledar. where the Russian assault has been relentless. Moscow's defense ministry announced the capture, and said it was made possible by constant bombardment from the air, by missiles and artillery on the part of Russian forces.
