Wai Ching Ho, whose decades-long career spanned Marvel‘s small screen and Pixar‘s animated features, has died at 82. Ho spent years bringing the calculating crime boss Madame Gao to life across Daredevil, Iron Fist and The Defenders, a role that made her one of the most memorable villains in Marvel’s Netflix era. News of Ho’s death was revealed by her Daredevil costar Peter Shinkoda, who played Nobu Yoshioka opposite her in the show’s first season.For a younger generation of fans, she’ll be remembered for something else entirely the warm, gently mischievous voice behind Grandma Wu in Turning Red, the 2022 Pixar film that earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.While sharing the news of Ho’s death on Instagram with a short, heartfelt message. “Just lost someone very special to me,” he wrote. “She was one of the coolest.
