Lost Maya City Bigger Than the Great Pyramid, El Mirador

Rubber tappers in Guatemala's jungle found stairs on a mountain that shouldn't exist. Buried underneath was La Danta, a pyramid bigger by volume than the Great Pyramid of Giza, crowning a lost Maya megacity called El Mirador. It was thriving 2,000 years before Tikal, then vanished around 150 AD with no war on record, just a defensive wall built facing outward. Less than 10% of the city has ever been excavated.
