What to Do During a Lightning Storm Outdoors ⚡

Caught outside during a lightning storm? ⚡ Knowing when to seek shelter can save your life. If you hear thunder, get inside a substantial enclosed building or a hard-top vehicle. Never use a tent, isolated tree, or open shelter as protection from lightning. If no safe shelter is available, reduce your risk by getting off elevated areas, staying away from water and tall isolated objects, and using the recommended low crouch only as a last resort.
