Karachi History: 15,000 Soldiers Attacked Karachi | Talpur Siege of 1792 | Episode 1
What happened when a 15,000-strong Talpur army marched toward Karachi in 1792?
At that time, Karachi was a small fortified settlement under the authority of the Khan of Kalat. Mir Fateh Ali Khan Talpur wanted to bring the strategically important port under his control.
The first siege lasted around two and a half months. Despite artillery and a much larger army outside the walls, Karachi's local defenders resisted—and the Talpur army was forced to withdraw.
But this was only the beginning...
Episode 2 will reveal what happened when Mir Fateh Ali Khan returned to Karachi for the second time.
A cinematic historical reconstruction of an important chapter in the history of old Karachi.
