Mohatta Palace Karachi: The Untold Story of Karachi’s Most Beautiful Palace
Mohatta Palace is more than just a beautiful building — it carries a remarkable story of old Karachi.
Built in 1927 by Shivratan Mohatta as his seaside home in Clifton, the palace was designed by architect Ahmed Hussein Agha in a distinctive Mughal revival style, combining yellow Gizri stone with pink Jodhpur stone. After Partition, the palace became part of Pakistan’s government buildings and later became associated with Fatima Jinnah. Today, it stands as one of Karachi’s most important cultural landmarks and a museum.
