Mount Rinjani is an active stratovolcano located on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, rising majestically to 3,726 meters (12,224 feet) above sea level . It is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia and the highest point in the province of West Nusa Tenggara . At its summit lies a massive 6-by-8.5 km caldera containing the breathtaking Segara Anak Lake ("Child of the Sea") — a stunning turquoise crater lake sitting at around 2,000 meters elevation . Inside the caldera also stands Mount Barujari, an active volcanic cone that continues to form within the ancient crater. Natural hot springs near the lake add to the area's unique beauty. Rinjani is the centerpiece of Mount Rinjani National Park, covering over 41,000 hectares, and was designated part of the UNESCO Global Geopark in 2018. It holds deep spiritual significance for the indigenous Sasak people, as well as Hindu communities in Bali and Lombok . The volcano remains active, with its last eruption recorded in September 2016 . A challenging yet rewarding trek, the journey to the summit typically takes 2–3 days, offering trekkers spectacular sunrise views, diverse ecosystems ranging from tropical rainforest to rocky volcanic slopes, and unforgettable vistas of Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and beyond . #Mountain #view #Rinjani #LombokTimur #3726mdpl
