Scene 3:The Roommate Phase
The Roommate Phase
When Maya and Jonah got married, they talked for hours every night. 7 years later, they barely talked at all.
It wasn't a big fight that broke them. It was silence.
Jonah worked late. Maya handled the kids, the house, the bills. At night they sat on the same couch, on opposite ends, both on their phones. One night Maya said, "I feel like I'm living with a roommate I never see."
Jonah didn't get defensive. He just said, "I feel it too. I didn't know how to say it."
They didn't fix it overnight. They started with 20 minutes a night — no phones, no TV, just talking. Awkward at first. Then honest. Then they started to remember why they chose each other in the first place.
The crisis wasn't that they stopped loving each other. It was that they stopped showing it.
