BOOK OF HAGGAI Chapters 1 & 2 |:Put God First and Trust His Promises. The Book of Haggai delivers a powerful message that still speaks to us today. After returning from exile, God's people became focused on building their own homes while leaving the Temple unfinished. Through the prophet Haggai, God calls His people to put Him first, repent, and faithfully continue the work He has given them. In Haggai Chapter 1, God reminds His people to "consider your ways." Because they neglected His house, they experienced hardship and lack. When they obeyed His voice and began rebuilding the Temple, God encouraged them with the wonderful promise: "I am with you." He reminds them that true blessing comes through obedience and declares that He is in control of every nation and kingdom. God also gives Zerubbabel a special promise, showing His faithfulness to those He has chosen.
