TASTY FRENCH TOAST RECIPE!!
Bread: 6 thick slices of slightly stale bread (brioche, challah, or sandwich bread)
Eggs: 2 large eggs
Milk: 1/2 cup (whole milk or heavy cream works best)
Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
Ground cinnamon: 1/2 tsp
Pinch of salt
Butter: 1-2 tbsp for frying
Step-by-Step Instructions
Whisk the custard: In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Preheat the pan: Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Soak the bread: Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture for 5–10 seconds per side, allowing it to soak up the custard without getting overly soggy.
Cook until golden: Place the soaked bread into the hot skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until crisp and golden brown.
Serve hot: Top with maple syrup, fresh berries, powdered sugar, or a knob of butter.
