Professor Kabir Ahmad Jaisi: Life, Education, Career, Literary Work and Contribution to Aligarh Muslim University

Professor Kabir Ahmad Jaisi was one of the important scholars associated with Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), particularly in the fields of Islamic Studies, Iranian Studies, Persian literature, Urdu criticism, and literary scholarship. He was not only an academic and professor but also a writer, critic, editor and administrator who played an important role in the intellectual life of Aligarh during the late twentieth century. Born in Jais, Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, Prof. Kabir Ahmad Jaisi eventually became closely associated with Aligarh Muslim University, first as a student and later as a distinguished teacher and academic administrator.
