Fast Radio Bursts: Mysterious Signals from Deep Space
Fast Radio Bursts, or FRBs, are powerful flashes of radio waves that arrive from distant regions of the universe. Most last only a few milliseconds, yet some release enormous amounts of energy in that brief moment. Scientists have detected thousands of these mysterious signals, but their origins are not fully understood. Some FRBs have been linked to magnetars, which are highly magnetized neutron stars. Others remain unexplained, leaving astronomers with exciting questions to investigate. By studying these fleeting cosmic flashes, researchers hope to uncover more about extreme objects, distant galaxies, and the mysterious environments between the stars.
