﷽ ﴿ ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُ ﴾ Agree or Disagree: Are Those Who Cry Alone the Closest to Allah?! Before you agree or disagree, here is one thing the Quran says about tears that you need to know first. You have probably cried alone before. Not in front of anyone. Not to seek sympathy. Just you and the quiet ceiling of your room. And after that, for some reason, it felt a little lighter. But there is a question you might have never asked out loud: Does Allah see those tears that no one else sees? The Quran does not just answer yes. It reveals something far deeper than that. وَيَقُولُونَ سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِن كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولًا ١٠٨ and say, ‘Glory be to our Lord! Surely the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled.’ وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا ۩ ١٠٩ And they fall down upon their faces weeping, and it increases them in humility.” (QS. Al-Isra': 108-109) Allah does not portray the prophets and the righteous as people who are strong without tears. He describes them as those who weep, and through it, draw even closer to Him. Tears in the Quran are not a sign of weakness. They are not a sign of wavering faith. Tears are the language of a soul in motion, moving toward something greater than itself. And Allah describes those who weep in prostration as people whose khusyu' (humble focus) increases. Not decreases. It increases. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned one of the seven categories of people who will be shaded by Allah on the Day of Resurrection: "A person who remembers Allah in seclusion and their eyes overflow with tears." — (HR. Bukhari & Muslim) Not the one who cries in front of a crowd. The one who is alone. The one no one knows about. The one witnessed by Allah alone. It is precisely this person Allah mentions specifically. Because that is where the purest honesty of the soul resides. Here, we need to be honest. Not every tear shed in solitude is a sign of closeness to Allah. Some cry from unhealed wounds. Some cry from sheer exhaustion of the soul—not because of Allah, but because the burden feels too heavy to bear. What makes the difference is not how often you cry, but where those tears lead you. Are they pulling you further from Allah, or taking you deeper toward Him? That determines everything. There is a paradox taught in the Quran: The soul that weeps most easily before Allah is the soul that stands strongest against the world. "Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And whoever Allah sends astray - for him there is no guide." (QS. Az-Zumar: 23) A soul that grows tender before Allah does not easily break before the world. Tears are not the end of strength. They are its beginning. If you cried alone last night and no one knew, Allah knows. The Quran does not call you weak. It does not call you dramatic. It calls honest tears shed before Allah a sign of a soul that is still alive. A dead soul does not weep. A completely hardened soul remains unmoved. If your tears are still flowing, there is still something inside you that has not given up. Do not extinguish that light. #QuranRecitation #QuranDaily #MorningZikr #SurahAlWaqiah #SurahAlMulk #SurahKahf #SurahYasin #IslamicReminders #MuslimCommunity #QuranRecitation #QuranDaily #MorningZikr #SurahAlWaqiah #SurahAlMulk #SurahKahf #SurahYasin #IslamicReminders #MuslimCommunity #HijratulIslam #MoeslemofAmerica #QuranForEveryOne #MurrotalQuran #TafsirQuran #DoaHarian #KajianIslam #BelajarIslam #MuslimQuotes #MotivasiHijrah #IslamRahmatanLilAlamin #AlQuran #Sunnah #Istiqamah #NasihatIslami #CeramahPendek
