Hero Dives Into The Sea To Free A Turtle

While sailing through the Baa Atoll in the Maldives, a boat captain spotted a turtle struggling in the ocean. A passenger quickly grabbed his mask and fins and jumped into the water to help. The exhausted turtle was badly tangled in a fishing net, so he brought it back to the boat where the crew carefully cut the net away. After being freed, the turtle was returned to the ocean and successfully swam away. A beautiful rescue and an important reminder of the danger discarded fishing gear can pose to marine wildlife. #turtle
