MOON SHRINGKING LIKE RAISIN
The Moon is shrinking like a raisin! It is shrinking because its interior continues to cool. As the crust contracts, it cracks and buckles, forming stair-like cliffs that are tens of meters high and several kilometers long. NASA's uncrewed spacecraft, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, has photographed more than 3,500 of these cliffs. According to NASA, the Moon's width has decreased by about 50 meters over the last few hundred million years—a process often likened to a grape turning into a raisin.
Coming up tomorrow: temperatures on the Moon—daytime heat hotter than boiling water.
