Asteroid heading to the earth

An asteroid heading toward Earth Kamoʻoalewa is an asteroid measuring approximately 20 meters across that is known as Earth's "quasi-satellite": it orbits the Sun but remains close to Earth. Some scientists hypothesize that it is a fragment of the Moon ejected during an impact 1–10 million years ago. On July 2, 2026, China's uncrewed spacecraft Tianwen-2 imaged the object from a distance of about 20 km. However, preliminary data from the James Webb Telescope (currently in preprint) and the images themselves have cast doubt on this hypothesis, so its origins remain uncertain. Samples are scheduled to arrive on Earth in late 2027. #kamooalewa #asteroidserpihanbulan #bulansemu #quasimoon #tianwen-2 #asteroiddekatbumi #kuasisatelit #misteribulan #giordanobruno #asteroidterbaru #faktaangkasa #faktaluarangkasa #astronomi #penemuanterbaru #spacefacts #shorts
