The Burning Candle(S)

In a ruined modern city, an exhausted soldier uses one bar of signal on a cracked smartphone to video call his young daughter on her birthday. She holds a small cake with a lit candle. He promises to come home before the candle burns out. A drone strike hits mid-call and the connection cuts. At home, the girl keeps staring at the black phone while the candle still burns, until two uniformed officers appear at the door and the candle goes out. #shortfilm #warshortfilm #emotionalshortfilm #sadshortfilm #cinematicshortfilm #modernwardrama #AIshortfilm #AIgeneratedfilm
