The Pangolin: The World's Most Hunted Animal

It looks like a walking pinecone... and it is covered, head to tail, in armor made of the same material as your fingernails. 🦔 This is the pangolin — the only scaled mammal on Earth. It has no teeth, it cannot bite, and when danger comes it rolls into a ball so perfect that lions and hyenas simply give up and walk away. Its tongue is longer than its head and body combined, and in a single year it can devour seventy million insects. But the defense that defeats lions is useless against humans. The pangolin has become the most trafficked mammal on the planet — hunted for scales built on a myth and meat sold as a luxury. This is the story of the armored anteater the whole world is stealing... and the one animal that never, ever fights back. 🔔 Subscribe to SupremeWildlife for more faceless wildlife documentaries on Earth's most extraordinary animals — new documentaries regularly.
